Top US Event, Team and Rankings Management Platform Joins the RunnerSpace Family
EUGENE, OR - September 2, 2015 - RunnerSpace is excited to announce the acquisition of Athletic.net, the #1 US High School meet entry system by number of meets, used by over 50% of US High School teams, with over 30,000 yearly coaches actively using Athletic.net to manage their teams, events and results, the site is a tremendous addition to the RunnerSpace network, extending the organization’s database capabilities, marketing reach, user resources and staffing. Athletic.net will continue forward as an independent site and retain all the current staffing including Athletic.net founder, David Bowdoin, who will run the site as CEO, but RunnerSpace, DyeStat and Athletic.net will pool resources internally to vastly improve development across all the sites at every level.
Founder and CEO of RunnerSpace, Ross Krempley said, "We couldn’t be happier adding Athletic.net to the family. I have personally used athletic.net for years with the Oregon Relays and know first hand how amazing and addictive the site can be for event directors and coaches. I have always secretly dreamed of what we could accomplish together, but didn’t think it would ever actually happen. Many of the Athletic.net features were in our three year strategic development plan, so instantly checking those features off our list marks this moment as major turning point for our business, current partnerships and what we can do for our sport.”
Founded in 2004, Athletic.net founder David Bowdoin and his staff have created an assortment of online team and event management tools, helping coaches save time while keeping track of their athletes, rivals, free meet entries and tools, results and rankings. Currently over 23 states have a large number teams that use Athletic.net, with many of them using the system exclusively for meet management, team management, rankings, results and archiving performances.
Founder and CEO of Athletic.net, David Bowdoin said, "Coaches who use Athletic.net have come to rely on our first class service. We believe that joining the RunnerSpace family opens up a whole new world of potential and will allow us to take our services to the next level.”
The acquisition of Athletic.net not only extends the reach and capabilities of RunnerSpace, but continues to build on what’s been an impressive list of growing partnerships over the last two years, including ongoing major partnerships with USATF.TV, AthleticsCanada.tv and Armory Track, as well as many regional and national level event partnerships such as Nike Cross Nationals, Nike Prefontaine Classic, New Balance Nationals and the HOKA ONE ONE Postal Nationals. All of the partners will benefit from this new addition and the RunnerSpace network combined 16 million yearly unique visitors and 160 million+ pageviews.
